Lampard has faced some fans’ scorn over a series of controversies that include appearing in a sex tape with Kieron Dyer and Rio Ferdinand in 2000 and abusing grieving American tourists in the wake of the 2001 September 11 terrorist attacks.

During an incident on September 12, Lampard and three teammates stripped, swore and vomited in front of American travellers who had been stranded at London’s Heathrow airport after their flight back home had been cancelled due to the attacks on the twin towers and the Pentagon. US media have been recirculating the story over the last seven days with Lampard joining New York City, and he is bound to receive something of an icy reception from some fans as he prepares to settle down and make a new life for himself in the States.

Morgan fell on top of the ball and the red mist came down as Hazard lashed out, complaining that the youngster was time wasting and kicking him in the ribs. Foy handed Hazard a straight red card for his blatant assault and the midfielder served a three match ban, while South Wales police opened an investigation into the incident, though Morgan refused to press charges. Now, whenever Chelsea face Swansea, Hazard is always booed and jeered by the Welsh club’s fans.
