REVEALED: A key reason why Mason Mount rejected new Chelsea contract
England midfielder Mason Mount has reportedly revealed why he rejected new Chelsea contract.
Earlier this week, Chelsea Lens reported that the 23-year-old was offered a long-term contract but he rejected the £200,000-a-week contract before heading to World Cup with the England national team.
According to latest report from Adam Newson of football.london via Daniels Child, Mount, whose has left less 18 months left on his contract at Stamford Bridge is reluctant to sign a deal with the Blues as as he wants positional assurances going forward.
“Mason is hesitant to sign as long a deal as Broja and James have. He would consider himself an eight, that may be something he wants some assurances over.
“As things stand, I’m optimistic a deal will be agreed”. – @AdamNewson on Mount #CFC contract.

Chelsea will hope to tie Mason Mount to a long-term deal as they did with Reece James, Armando Broja and Trevoh Calobah who recently sign a six-year contract.
