Report: Chelsea ‘closing in’ on deal for Christopher Nkunku

Chelsea are expected to be busy when the January transfer window opens, and they have been linked with several players over the past few months.

With the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang , Raheem Sterling, Armando Broja and Kai Havertz all struggling in front of goal, Graham Potter will be keen on bolster his attacking options in the winter

According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are ‘closing in’ on finalizing a move for one of their transfer targets.

The player we are talking about is RB Leipzig striker Christopher Nkunku, and Romano claimed that the 23-year-old has underwent a secret medical with the Blues earlier this season.

The report further stated that Chelsea have already agreed personal terms with the Frenchman and they are ‘closing in’ on agreeing a transfer fee with RB Leipzig.

Nkunku has a contract with the Bundesliga side until June 2026 and his £52 million will become active in June next year, but Chelsea are ready to pay a higher transfer fee with easier payment terms. It appears a matter of time before the paperwork is finalised for his move next summer.
