One thing is made evident as Chelsea’s League standing from a year ago is revealed
Chelsea was cruising at the top of the Premier League standings exactly one year ago today.
By game week 14, Thomas Tuchel and his Blues squad had a commanding +27 goal differential and a one-point advantage over Manchester City, who had 32 points.
In November 2022, after 14 games, Chelsea has slipped to eighth place in the Premier League with a goal differential of zero.
The difference between the two tables placed side by side is enormous:
As things stand, both the top four race and the Blues’ chances of winning the championship are all but gone.
Chelsea is already eight points behind the team in fourth position, as you can see from the table.
Chelsea’s season last year saw a sharp decline in fortunes as they were unable to win the title and had to battle for a top-four finish.
In order to even finish among the top four, Graham Potter and his crew will be hoping that this season, things go from bad to outstanding.
