According to reports, Chelsea playmaker Hakim Ziyech has emerged as a transfer target for Serie A side AC Milan as they open talks with the Morocco international.
Ziyech, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from Ajax in the summer of 2020, has struggled for form since his £36 million move.
The Morocco international has had series of injuries that kept him sidelined, however, during his first season in England, he made 15 Premier League starts and 14 starts last season, netting six times in the blue shirt.
According to Italian publication, TuttoMercatoWeb, Chelsea are prepared to letting the 29-year-old leave in the upcoming transfer windows, and the player is also keen on a move.
The report further stated that AC Milan are very interested in his services and has opened talks with Chelsea over a season-long loan deal for the winger for the upcoming season.
However, Ziyech’s salary with the Blues may prove to be an issue, with the player said to be earning around £5 million per year, while a loan fee and option or obligation to buy must be agreed between the two sides.
For a deal to happen, Chelsea would have to pay some of his wages or Ziyech will accept to take a pay-cut.
In some other news, Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Atletico Madrid defender Jose Gimenez. The 27-year-old is regarded as one of the best centre-backs in La Liga for a while now.
