‘I want to join Chelsea’: £12m player publicly admits he’s hoping to sign for Graham Potter
Dynamo Moscow’s Arsen Zakharyan has publicly admitted that he wants to join Chelsea.
The Blues were linked during the summer transfer window with a move for the 19-year-old player, who’s a talented youngster in the Russian league.
Zakharyan has spoken in an interview this week about Chelsea holding talks with Dynamo Moscow for him.
When asked by Sport24 how did the possibility of a move to Stamford Bridge feel, he said: “I got my parents right away. I was glad, there was excitement. I thought it would work, it wouldn’t work. I replayed in my head how it would all turn out. The agent said that a club from Spain was interested in me, but I have Chelsea and I want to join Chelsea.”
Eventually, the attacking midfielder remained in Dynamo colours this season.
He’s been effective so far this campaign with three goals and five assists in 17 domestic games across all competitions.

Arsen Zakharyan wants to join Chelsea
Dynamo Moscow’s teenager has remarkably added in his interview with Sport24 that he hopes to sign for Graham Potter’s Chelsea side in the future.
When asked if he hopes he will move to England in the winter, Zakharyan responded: “I hope that the negotiations will continue in the winter and they will lead to something.”
The Evening Standard previously reported that Chelsea agreed a £12.6million deal to sign Zakharyan in the summer before FIFA and UEFA restrictions stopped the move of the Russian player
Fabrizio Romano claimed last month the Blues remain interested in signing the Dynamo talent, though.
One policy that’s developing quite clearly under the new ownership at the Bridge is the investment in some of the best youngsters in the game.
Chelsea significantly strengthened their youth options in the recent transfer window, so it’s a clear look towards the future.
Zakharyan ticks a lot of boxes as an emerging creative player that is performing in a European league.
If the Blues can overcome any regulation problems, surely this is a transfer that can come to life again given the player’s latest comments.
Dynamo’s rising star definitely sounds like a confident lad ready to take the leap to the Premier League.
