Good news at Stamford Bridge as Brazilian midfilder confirms Chelsea transfer

Chelsea are reportedly on the verge of finalizing a move for Andrey Santos from Vasco da Gama.

Brazilian sensation Andrey Santos has suggested that he will be moving to Chelsea sooner rather than later.

He has made a big impression in his first full season with the senior team, making 36 appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals and winning four Brazil Under-20 caps.

He has thrived as a ball-winning central midfielder who can break up attacks – and he is a player that Chelsea have been keeping an eye on over the past few months as all the speculation continues to increase.

The Blues agreed to pay Vasco de Gama £11m for the 18-year-old – and many have been expecting him to go straight into that Graham Potter starting eleven since the announcement was made in January that he was signed.

However – the club have yet to have a work permit accepted for him to play in the UK, but they are still trying to push this through and it appears that Santos is confident of that happening,

He has been saying he will now be back with Chelsea in a tweet thanking the club for their congratulations after the lad helped the Brazil U20s win the South American Championship, where he finished off joint-top scorer.

Reporter Iomie Stanley has claimed that he is a similar type of player to Douglas Luiz – he told icfootballnews: “He’s Been compared to the impressive Doulas Luiz – It’s a similar type of player coming from a same club in a similar situation in that he’s been in the second division with Vasco – he’s helped them out, as Luiz did a few years ago before moving onto Man City.

“He’s a strong box-to-box midfielder. I don’t think Vasco would have been promoted without him, but it’s a big step up for the lad and there is a feeling that he is not quite ready to challenge for a regular starting spot

“However – He’s only 18, so this is one for the future, but there’s certainly promise there as a box-to-box midfielder that will have the ability to score a goal every now and then.

‘There is great excitement surrounding the lad and Chelsea fans should be excited about his potential –he just needs to make sure that he does not let the British media get to him.’
