Fabrizio Romano provides more crucial details of Christopher Nkunku transfer released

Chelsea transfer deal is prepared with just official announcement waiting

Christopher Nkunku will join Chelsea next season, German insider Florian Pletteberg has confirmed.

RB Leipzig have apparently signed off on a fee of around €60m, and it will happen “regardless of Chelsea’s performance this season.”

We don’t look likely to make the Champions League, so that’s a relief. Nkunku is currently struggling with injury, but as recently as a year ago was looking like one of Europe’s most dangerous attacking players and getting his first France caps.

In just his Champions League 7 appearances this season he’s managed 3 goals and one assist.

This particular deal isn’t new news really – insiders like Plettenberg and Fabrizio Romano have basically had it confirmed as a done deal since September. They just put out an occasional reminder like this.

It also explains Chelsea’s moves in January – assuming they see Nkunku as a line-leading forward. Once he’s added we will have some ridiculous firepower, even after the inevitable departures.
