Well, another transfer window has come and gone. During that period, new owner Todd Boehly and coach Thomas Tuchel were actively working on incoming and outgoing transfers till the window shut on Thursday night.
Chelsea completed two transfers on the deadline day – Pierre Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona, and Denis Zakaria from Juventus on loan.
The latter was a surprise signing for all the Blues as nobody saw it coming, the transfer came really quick and was done almost immediately.

Most football fans tagged the deal as a ‘panic signing‘, but it seems like the new owners knew exactly what they were doing as they has revealed why made a move for the Juventus midfielder.
Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly said: “Denis is a talented midfielder with lots of quality and skill. He will add depth and range to our squad this season, and we are looking forward to watching him play in Chelsea blue.”
Behdad Eghbali and José E. Feliciano, co-controlling owners, added: “Denis brings top-level and international experience, and his mix of tenacity and great distribution will be assets to our team. We’re happy to have him with us and welcome him to London.”
I particularly liked the ‘tenacity and great distribution’ part. Sounds like something we could certainly do with more of!
Welcome, Denis!
