Denis Zakaria should leave Chelsea in January if Graham Potter does not start him against Dinamo Zagreb
Despite the fact that Chelsea’s midfield has been stretched in the last few Games, Graham Potter is still reluctant to hand Chelsea debut to the club’s summer signing Denis Zakaria.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek is moonlighting in the Wing-back position due to the absence of Reece James. Jorginho is not getting any rest because there’s limited options for the Midfield role under Graham Potter.
Against Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend at Amex Stadium, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mateo Kovavic Started in the midfield. Despite the fact that the partnership of the duo didn’t work out against the Seagulls, Graham Potter Kept Denis Zakaria on the bench.
The Switzerland National is yet to make his debut for the West London club since he joined them from Juventus on loan last summer. During that time, Carney Chukwuemeka and Conor Gallagher have gotten playing time under Graham Potter while Conor Gallagher has even started to get more prominent role in the team.
It’s understandable if Denis Zakaria is not showing enough quality in training that can match the intensity of the Premier League football but the question is, how bad can he be to deserve such treatment?
Chelsea has an upcoming UEFA Champions League game against Dinamo Zagreb at Stamford Bridge this week. The Game is more or less a dead rubber for the Graham Potter’s side as they have already qualified for the knockout rounds.
If Graham Potter can’t use that opportunity to play Denis Zakaria and hand the debut to the Midfielder, then he has no reason to stay beyond the January transfer window at Chelsea.
