Chelsea set to beat Real Madrid to sign £85m star
According to reports, Chelsea are seriously interested in signing AC Milan forward Rafael Leao when the winter transfer window opens.
The Blues’ attempt to sign the 23-year-old for £55 million last summer was rejected by Milan as they want more for the Portuguese star.
However, according to Calciomercato, Chelsea are still keen on the versatile star and they are optimistic a deal will materialize this time.
With Leao having less than 18 months less on his contract at San Siro and there has been no progress in talks over an improved deal, Chelsea will try to capitalize on the situation are convinced they can prise him away from Milan midway through the campaign.
Graham Potter is desperately in need of a creative attacker in his squad following a dreadful start to their Premier League season.
The west London club are currently eighth in the standings and are eight points away from the top four.
