Chelsea resigned to losing 24 year old star in the summer
According to The Telegraph, Chelsea are now resigned to losing Mason Mount in the summer after the 24 year old midfielder rejected the club’s latest contract offer.
Mount has 18 months left on his current deal at Stamford Bridge and is reportedly demanding wages of around £250,000-a-week to extend his stay at the club.
Talks with Mount were halted after the 24-year-old rejected an offer feeling it left him below what other senior players and new signings are earning at Stanford Bridge.
Chelsea are now ready to sell the England international in the summer if no agreement is reach over a new contract.
Mount was left on the bench for Chelea’s match against West Ham, with Joao Felix and Ruben Loftus-Cheek brought into the team by manager Graham Potter. The 24-year-old was brought on as a second half subsitute.
Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Mount but are believed to be prioritising summer moves for Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham and Wolves’ Matheus Nunes.
Juventus have also been linked with the England international.
Mount has played 189 times for Chelsea since breaking into the first team set-up, scoring 33 goals for the club.
He was part of Chelsea’s Champions League winning side in 2021 and has played for England in two major tournaments.
