Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea could offload Newcastle United and West Ham United target Ross Barkley in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.
The report in the British tabloid has claimed Chelsea want to get rid of the former Everton attacking midfielder before the summer transfer window closes next week.
The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners could even let Barkley leave as a free agent after a huge pay-off, according to the report, which has added that the Blues’ chairman Todd Boehly could make an offer to the £200,000-a-week Englishman to get him off their books.
Barkley has been linked with a number of clubs in the summer transfer window, including Newcastle, West Ham and Everton.
Journalist Simon Phillips told GiveMeSport earlier this month that Everton, Aston Villa, Brighton and Hove Albion, Newcastle, West Ham and Celtic all are keen on securing the services of Barkley this summer.
Ross Barkley made one start and five substitute appearances in the Premier League for Chelsea last season, scoring one goal in the process.
The 28-year-old attacking midfielder has scored 29 goals and created 39 big chances in 232 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
