Chelsea lining up surprise bid for Belgium striker in €27m deal

According to reports, Chelsea are weighing up a move for Stade Rennes forward Jeremy Doku.

The 20-year-old have been previously linked with move to the Premier League, with the likes of Newcastle United and Liverpool reportedly to be interested in his services.

Doku joined Stade Rennias from Anderlecht in the summer of 2020, however, the Belgium international have been limited to just 56 games for the Ligue 1 side due to series of injuries. He managed to register four goals and six assisting along the way.

At the age of 20, Doku still has time to continue his development and if stay fit he could emerge as a better footballer in the newly begin campaign.

Following the departures of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner to Inter Milan and RB Leipzig respectively, Chelsea have been on the lookout for attacking additions.

The London giants have so far only signed Raheem Sterling from Man City to address the issues in the final third but are still on the lookout for more signings. 

Meanwhile, Wilfried Zaha is also a target for the Blues and might become a top option if Jeremy Doku simply remains on their radar.
