Chelsea ‘could go after’ £66m striker this summer at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea eyeing moves for Vlahovic and Osimhen

Chelsea going after Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic in the summer cannot be ruled out, transfer insider Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport.

The Blues could soon find themselves possessing a lot of attacking options, with Graham Potter already having the likes of Kai Havertz and Mykhailo Mudryk to call upon, but it does not look like that will stop them from eyeing other forwards in the next transfer window.

Chelsea transfer news – Dusan Vlahovic

CBS reporter Ben Jacobs has informed GMS that Vlahovic is a name on Chelsea’s list.

He joined Juventus from Fiorentina last year in a deal worth about £66m in total, as reported by Sky Sports.

If Vlahovic moves to Chelsea, he will likely have to compete with Havertz for a spot should the German remain at Stamford Bridge. There has been some talk about Bayern Munich being interested in the 23-year-old.

Christopher Nkunku is another forward who he may have to go up against for a place in Potter’s starting XI. RB Leipzig sporting director Max Eberl recently told BILD that the Frenchman will be joining Chelsea this summer.

What has Dean Jones said about Dusan Vlahovic and Chelsea?

Jones can imagine Chelsea making a move for Vlahovic in the next transfer window.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: “They certainly don’t want to lose Havertz, at the moment, but I wouldn’t totally rule out the possibility that they go for somebody like Vlahovic in the summer.”

Do Chelsea need another forward signing like Dusan Vlahovic?

You probably can argue yes. While the Blues do have Havertz, Mudryk and Nkunku, who will join the club ahead of next season, the trio are not natural centre-forwards.

There is still Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but it would not be a shock to see him leave in the summer. He has struggled at Stamford Bridge this term, scoring just one goal in the Premier League so far (via Transfermarkt).

Chelsea also have Armando Broja on their books, but he is still quite young and will need time to fully recover from the serious injury he picked up earlier in the campaign.

When you consider all of that, it is not hard to see the thinking behind the west London club targeting a recognised striker like Vlahovic.

What is more tricky to imagine is Potter fitting the likes of Vlahovic, Nkunku and Havertz in the same team and keeping them all happy.
