Chelsea ‘are now interested’ in completing deal for Spaniard shot-stopper
According to transfer guru Simon Phillips, Chelsea are interested in signing Brentford goalkeeper David Raya this summer.
The club have been one of the busiest sides this month, having already splashed the cash to sign David Datro Fofana, Andrey Santos, Benoit Badiashile, Joao Felix and Mykhaylo Mudryk as Graham Potter looks to strengthen his squad for the second phase of the season.
There are still a few weeks to go in the transfer window – meaning that we still have plenty of time to do some more business – and now it seems that Raya is a man that the club are interested in.
Kepa has been decent since coming back into the side this season – but still looks like a man that can make a mistake or two – while Edouard Menyd has been out for some time and is considering his future at the club.
And according to Phillips – the club are now interested in a deal for Raya – Phillips told GiveMeSport: “I did an article probably about two or three weeks ago on goalkeepers because I was told at the time that Chelsea are not talking with (Edouard) Mendy at the moment about a new contract, and it is looking likely that he could be heading out in the summer.
“So, Chelsea had been making plans for goalkeepers for the last two or three months. And Raya was one of the names I was given when I first wrote that article, so I know that there’s interest.”
