Better than Aubameyang – Chelsea set to beat Man United to sign €45m-rated Premier League striker
Chelsea are reportedly considering signing a new striker once the January transfer window opens as Graham Potter wants to bolster his attacking options.
With the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Armando Broja and Kai Havertz struggling in front of goal, the Blues are likely to go for other options in the winter.
According to reports, Chelsea are considering making a move for England and Brentford striker Ivan Toney who has proven to be a clinical finisher.
The 26-year-old has been a red hot form for the Bees this season, managing 11 goals and three assists to his name so far.
Ivan Toney could also be an improvement over Aubameyang who has not been his best since switch from Barcelona in the summer and he is not getting any younger.
However, the Blues might have to wait until the end of the season before making their move as Brentford are unlikely to sell their striker midway through the season.
The England international is valued at around €50 million, it will be interesting to see whether Chelsea come forward with an official bid in the coming months.
Chelsea have to move fast if they are to secure his signature with Manchester United and Liverpool believed to be interested in his services.
