After Aubameyang, Chelsea working on a deal to sign top Dutch attacker for free

Everyone is well aware that the transfer window will shut close by 11pm on Thursday night. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to sign for Chelsea before then, with the striker already in London for his medical.

Chelsea, however, are working on a other deal for Aubameyang teammate who could follow him to Stamford Bridge immediately.

This is according to transfer journalist, Gerard Romero who is believed to be close to Barcelona, Chelsea are closing in on Memphis Depay.

Depay, who signed for Barça last summer, could become the next Barcelona’s player to sign for Chelsea after Aubameyang’s deal is completed.

It was previously reported that Depay has an agreement with Barcelona that he can leave the club for leave if he finds a club ready to match his wages with the Calatan side.

He currently has a year left on his contract with the La Liga club, simply means the contract will be terminated and he can leave for free.

Meanwhile, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has given his say on the report as he believe a deal is not close to happening.
