4 players who could leave Chelsea before the January transfer deadline day

Chelsea broke 13-year Premier League record in the comeback win over West Ham

The first-team members of Chelsea were observed leaving the club before the transfer window closed on January 31 despite Graham Potter’s team bringing in a large number of new players this month.

Chelsea, who are now ranked mid-table in the Premier League standings, have been by far the largest spenders during the mid-season window as club co-owner Todd Beohly sought to improve a team that has underachieved this season.

Some well-known players who have recently been linked with moves abroad could be leaving Stamford Bridge since the new additions are anticipated to secure regular game time for the struggling Blues.

1. Hakim Ziyech

Ziyech joined the club in 2020, but has yet to establish himself as a starter for Chelsea, who are apparently willing to let the former Ajax playmaker go in the January transfer window.

According to recent rumors, Ziyech’s asking price has been set by the west Londoners at £17.5 million, with Serie A powerhouse AS Roma rumored to be interested in bidding for the player’s services.

Top teams in Europe are showing interest in the Chelsea player as a result of Ziyech’s impressive performance with Morocco at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, when they surprised everyone by reaching the semifinals.

2. Conor Gallagher

When the talented midfielder returned to the Bridge from an outstanding loan stint at Crystal Palace last summer, he was expected to have a bright future in a Chelsea jersey.

Gallagher, however, has failed to make an impression on either Thomas Tuchel or Graham Potter, who will take over as Chelsea’s manager going forward. The England international is predicted to be a casualty of Chelsea’s overabundance after a busy month for the Blues in the transfer market.

Chelsea may decide to sell Gallagher in order to balance their books, therefore Newcastle United and Gallagher’s former loan club Palace have been keeping an eye on the 22-year-old.

3. Edouard Mendy

Edouard Mendy, a former first-team goalie who has struggled with injury issues and consistent first-team involvement this season, might make a stunning departure from the Chelsea squad.

Mendy’s future at Stamford Bridge has recently been the subject of major speculation after the Senegal goalie rejected a new contract offer from Chelsea in favor of better terms comparable to those offered to the No. 1 Kepa.

The Chelsea club’s medical staff has been assisting the 30-year-old throughout his recovery from surgery on a finger injury that has kept him inactive since the beginning of the year.

4. Ruben Loftus-Cheek

To his credit, Loftus-Cheek has consistently shown himself to be a dependable choice for Chelsea managers, but the England midfielder is still a long way from being guaranteed regular playing time.

Before the transfer window closes on Tuesday night, Chelsea is actively searching for a new midfielder, so Loftus-Cheek might be seeking for a way out to restart his career.

If the 27-year-old decides to leave the Blues in the near future, Newcastle United is one of the teams vying for his services.
