£100m star set to join Chelsea with club ready to sell
Premier League side West Ham are resigned to selling England international midfielder Declan Rice to Chelsea, according to The Athletic via Metro.
The England international is keen on leaving West Ham so he can play Champions League football and has already rejected three contract offers from West Ham amid interest from Chelsea.
West Ham’s last offer would have seen him become the highest paid player in their history, and it has been nine months since talks were last held.
The 24-year-old’s contract is up in 2024, and while there is an option to trigger a one-year extension, West Ham have conceded that they cannot keep the player against his will.
While he has no interest in signing a new deal, Rice will not submit a transfer request to force a move, but
West Ham know that this summer is the last chance to cash-in a sizeable fee for the midfielder.
West Ham boss David Moyes has previously claimed West Ham will demand at least £100million for the transfer of Rice.
