Palmer up for Player and Goal of the Month, Sánchez in the running for Save of the Month

Chelsea may have ended December on a disappointing note, dropping eight points in the last three games, but the month wasn’t without its highlights. Among the standout performers was Cole Palmer, who has once again been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award.

Palmer delivered an impressive tally of five goals and one assist across seven matches in December, including a memorable effort against Fulham, which has also earned a nomination for Goal of the Month. Interestingly, former Chelsea prospect Tariq Lamptey is also in the spotlight with multiple nominations in the same category.

Palmer’s impact could have been even greater if not for Ipswich Town goalkeeper Christian Walton, whose fingertip save pushed a goal-bound shot from Palmer onto the crossbar earlier this week. That remarkable stop has earned Walton a nomination for Save of the Month, a category in which Chelsea’s Robert Sánchez is also recognized for one of his standout saves against Brentford.

Both Palmer and Sánchez are no strangers to accolades this season. Sánchez previously claimed the Save of the Month award for October, while Palmer has already won Player of the Month in September and Goal of the Month in November.
